Folly Beach, nicknamed the Edge of America, is located on one of Charleston's barrier islands and is home to 2400 residents. It is conveniently located adjacent to James Island and is only a short 15 minute drive to the Historic District of downtown Charleston.

Festivals and other events abound on Folly! The year always begins with the Polar Bear Plunge, a New Year's Day tradition! Other festivals include the Taste of Folly, FollyGras Parade and Street Festival, Sea and Sand Festival, Summer Family Fun Nights and the annual Christmas Parade. Ongoing events include Art in the Park, story time at the library, live music at various venues and the Wednesday Farmers Market. Shops that dot the main street, Center Street, offer a variety of items from basic island essentials to souvenirs. The restaurant scene on Folly Beach is quite extensive for this sized island! Restaurants offer cuisines ranging from seafood favorites to basic burgers and fries. Grab a cup of coffee at your favorite shop or dine alfresco at your favorite sandwich shop.
